who i am

Hi. My name is Seth Piccirillo, and I am running for the Mayor of Niagara Falls in 2019. I was born here. My wife Kelly and I are raising our daughters Tessa and Nola here. Niagara Falls is home and I am proud to work in this community, everyday. Thanks for visiting the site.

This city is more than my location. Niagara Falls is who I am. From an early age, I wanted more for my hometown. I focused my frustrations and aspirations for Niagara Falls on an education and career in public service.  My parents Al and Marsha taught us to be a servant leader by example and our entire family showed me that community is life’s greatest gift. That pursuit of community will always be at the center of my story.

I am running for Mayor to do something, not to be something. Our campaign will be about what we, and I mean all of us, can get done together in our neighborhoods. We will put forth specific plans for real issues rather than talk in slogans. As Director of Niagara Falls Community Development for the past six years, I have learned that we can innovate while saving taxpayer dollars if we start with real public participation. As Mayor, we will use that same model to focus every financial, policy and service resource on neighborhood quality of life, first and foremost.

I have worked in local and state government for 13 years, starting as a City Hall intern. Constituent service, public forums, neighborhood workshops and community cleanups are the parts of government where I feel most at home. I am going to bring that vibe to this campaign. I never understood traditional political speak and respect my neighbors too much to use spin or theatrics as part of this election. That behavior just isn’t who I am and it certainly does not translate into results. You deserve better, and you will get that from me.

The current state of American politics is getting uglier by the day. Niagara Falls is facing serious issues, and many people are frustrated. Through this announcement, I became a politician for the first time in my career and that does not feel natural for me, to be honest.  So, I am going to do what I know – reach out and create community. We made this announcement early to create a real conversation around local solutions to local problems. As always Niagara Falls, I look forward to working with you.

Sincerely,
